The Pulp, The Tissues and The Nerves
Inside your teeth are connective tissues that distribute nutrients throughout your tooth and help to keep it strong. When infection invades the inside, the pulp and tissues are damaged. Without treatment, the infection can destroy the pulp and tissues and lead to the loss of your tooth.
The nerves in your skin and the rest of your body signal your brain to environmental changes, pressure, injury, and good feeling sensations. In the same way, they work to send signals to your brain alerting you to changes in temperature and pressure on your teeth. And just as your brain can make adjustments to your body when they indicate a change is needed, your brain can interpret the signals from these nerves in your teeth and signal you to make an adjustment if needed.
